Plavix (clopidogrel) keeps the platelets in your blood from coagulating (clotting) to prevent unwanted blood clots that can occur with certain heart or blood vessel conditions. Plavix is used to prevent blood clots after a recent heart attack or stroke, and in people with certain disorders of the heart or blood vessels. Flomax, Alna, Josir, Pradif, Secotex, Urolosin, Mecir (tamsulosin). Indicated for the treatment of Lower urinary tract Symptoms (LUTS) associated with benign prostate hyperplasia and available since 1996 as capsule controlled release formulation in the main world markets. Starting in 2005, a new tablet formulation based on the OCAS (Oral Controlled Absorption System) technology has been made available in many European markets and in Canada.
Generic versions are available in Canada and were FDA approved in September 2006. Mylan Pharmaceuticals was recently granted final approval for generic topiramate 25, 100, and 200 mg tablets and sprinkle capsules by the FDA for sale in the US. 50 mg tablets were granted tentative approval. The last patent for topiramate in the U.S. was for pediatric use; this patent expired on February 28, 2009.
